Sports & Sex.
Mens sana in corpore sano is Latin and means
Healthy spirit in a healthy body.
For various reasons, keeping up a healthy lifestyle is good for your overall health, but what does it do for your sexlife?
For both men and women keeping up a good muscle tone is beneficial to keep up hormone regulation. Doing cardio workout is good for the lungs and heart. All of these you need in sex, because having sex is in itself an act of sport, where your whole body works out.
Let’s talk about testosterone
Testosterone is a hormone found in humans, as well as in other animals.
In men, the testicles primarily make testosterone. Women’s ovaries also make testosterone, though in much smaller amounts. The production of testosterone starts to increase significantly during adolescence and begins to dip after age 30 or so.
Testosterone is most often associated with sex drive and plays a vital role in sperm production. It also affects bone and muscle mass, the way men and women store fat in the body, and even ”Red B” cell production.
Signs that you have low testosterone levels
The signs between men and women have some overlap for example.
Gaining weight,
mood swings,
low sex drive or loss of sex drive,
poor focus,
poor memory,
depression,
low energy,
brittle bones.
But for more specific to men are
Erectile dysfunctions
Low sperm volume and count
Fatigue
Smaller testicles
Low ” Red B” counts
Hair loss and less body hair, difficulties to grow a beard
Loss of muscle mass
How to increase your testosterone levels naturally?
Weight lifting
Eat healthy, protein, fats and carbs. Get an official meal plan that follows your workout plan.
Minimize stress and cortisol levels
Get sleep and rest, go and test would you benefit from Cpap-machine?
Take Vitamin D
Avoid alcohol and drugs.
For the ladies I personally recommend Vitamin D, but also this vitamin supplement that has these three components,- Selenium – Curcumine- Resveratrol In Finland we have this vitamin supplement that has them all and it’s called SEKURE OR SEKURE FORTE. You can buy it online.
The idea is that it cleans out extra estrogen. It has worked for me, I was doubtful at first, but after one month I saw plenty of differences and results. As always, ask your doctor first before using.
I am not a professional food or supplement therapist, nor a doctor.
There is no factual science that could say 100% what is too much exercise for an individual, because it differs so much from person to person.
And there is no factual science that says that you need to say no to sex, when doing competitive sports. Restraining from sexual activities to obtain better results in sports is a myth.
But when you notice that you feel more tired and your Sex drive is weaker than usual, then you should understand that your body needs more recovery time and rest.
Do Sports and Do Sex,- enjoy both!
